A misty Morning over Pleasure Lakes, Limoges

TBH I tend to us pretty much the same rigs, line etc in France as I do in the UK – The main difference will be that I’ll be using a bait boat

I’ll be using a UKBC Raptor – This has built in sonar and GPS and have the bait spiral  & spreader too which will help bait a larger area and will be fishing a couple of rods at over 200yds

I’ve tried fishing at range using a boat with no GPS before and it really isn’t easy getting the range right. I’ve sent it out during heavy rain at night and realised in the morning it was nowhere near where I thought I’d put it !

The boat has 2 hoppers and a spreader so can take a good amount of bait out at a time (around 6kg) giving me the potential to bait over 2 or even 3 spots with a single visit (although I would only send one rig out at a time)

The Bait

I was massively proud to have been taken on as a CC Moore team member in 2024 and have had great success on their Pro-stim Liver and the Pacific Tuna

I’ll be sticking with these for my main flavour ranges for the trip and taking a mix size range with 10, 15 and 18mm as well as glugs, hookbait  boosters and powders. I tend to use up to a size 15mm at home but apart from that, the only other difference really is quantity and will be taking approximately 30/35kg of boilie

Using a lot of bait is definitely something I find hard to get my head round as I tend to use a scattering but I’ve seen the difference a well baited area can make when fishing these French waters so it absolutely makes sense to follow suit!
